The 2019 - 2020 Crete Cardinals basketball team posted a 27 - 1 record. They were Doane Holiday Tournament Champions, Central Ten Tournament Champions, and District Champions. But none of those accomplishments were enough --in 2019 they had come up one game short of a state championship. They had "unfinished business." On March 5th, 2020 they claimed an overtime victory over Norris. On March 6th, they persevered through three overtimes to defeat Grand Island Northwest. And on March 7th they reached their ultimate goal, defeating Beatrice to earn Crete it's first state championship since 1981.

This video is presented in appreciation of the Crete Cardinal 2020 Class B State Champions! I send a special 'thank you' to my granddaughter, Jayda, and her coaches and teammates who gave us so many opportunities to cheer and celebrate. I hope you enjoy the videos.
