The "Perspectives" page of each year is a personal look back. I was 9 years old in 1956 -- I grew up in the "Elvis Era." From childhood memories of Davey Crockett and seeing Elvis on television to the adolescent experiences of Bandstand and doing the twist and locomotion at teen dances, these pages describe what I remember from those days. From grade school to junior high, to high school; from crushes on Mary Stone to a special girl friend to what proved to be the love of my life, the "Elvis Era" provided my soundtrack.
