Julie's favorite place was Black Pine Beach Resort in Minnesota -- she had been going there since 1973 --she had raised her children vacationing each year with extended family and adopted family that shared the resort for the first week in August. On July 30th, 2024 we gathered together this family and took time to remember Julie. A flotilla of boats from the resort journeyed to the middle of our bay and we scattered Julie's ashes in her favorite place. We know she is not there -- she is with Our Father in heaven. We will join her there someday, but until then, we will have this place to remember her and honor those memories. And each year when I look out over that bay I will imagine her saying those last words she wrote in her ALS journal -- "Love y'all." |
