Capitol Conference Rosters

| These were the rosters for the Capitol Conference Tournament. As you can see, at the time there only seven schools in the conference, so when the tournament was seeded, the top seed got a bye in the first round -- in 1988 that was Wahoo. In future years, Fort Calhoun and Conestoga would join the conference, necessitating a "bunny bracket" game -- the winner would then play the #1 seed in the first round. In the first round in 1988, Syracuse defeated Arlington, Raymond Central defeated Valley, and Bennington defeated Ashland. The second round winners were Wahoo over Bennington and Syracuse over Raymond Central. Syracuse defeated Wahoo in the finals. |
