WAHOO: 8 ... 12 ... 6 ... 24 50
Lincoln Pius X: 5 ... 18 ... 12 ... 13 48
Dan Bartek scored his seasons best 27 points and Steve Carmer drove for a winning lay-up with one second left on the clock to give Wahoo a State Championship 50 - 48 win over Lincoln Pius X. A 9 - 1 run by Pius in the waning minutes of the game had given the Bolts a 48 - 46 lead. Bartek tied the game with 20 seconds left. Following a time-out by Pius, Bartek then stole the in-bounds pass to set up Carmers heroics. After a time-out, Kevin Jeppson received the inbounds pass, drove and dished to Bartek. But Carmer ended up with the ball and drove from the freethrow line, past two defenders to lay the ball off the glass and in. It was only Carmers 5th point of the game. The Warriors scored 24 points in the fourth quarter, nearly as many as the 26 they had put up in the first three quarters.
