3/8/1989 vs. Syracuse Conference game Neutral State Tournament

Season Game #: 25 / Streak Game #: 37 / Current Record: 25 - 0

WAHOO: 12 ... 21 ... 19 ... 81 ... 61
Syracuse: 8 ... 15 ... 8 ... 120 ... 43

Wahoo faced Syracuse for the third time of the season, this time in the State Tournament semi-finals. Although Coach Anderson voiced concern about trying to beat a good team three times, the result was pretty much the same as the first two outings. The Warrior defense kept Syracuse under 50 points and came away with a 60 - 43 victory. It appeared the Rockets might have a chance when Jason Glock left the game in the first quarter with three fouls. But Wahoo survived even though sophomore sub, Steve Volin, was playing on a bad ankle. Cliff Kreizel contributed 6 critical points in the third quarter to boost Wahoo to a 52 - 31 advantage.
