vs. Wahoo Neumann

12/28/1988 vs. Wahoo Neumann NONCONFERENCE game AWAY HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT

Season Game #: 7 / Streak Game #: 19 / Current Record: 7 - 0

WAHOO: 12 ... 13 ... 15 ... 10 -- 50
Wahoo Neumann: 8 ... 9 ... 12 ... 12 -- 41

Wahoo Neumann Coach Paul Johnson turned the tables on the Warriors, employing a “slime” defense (a triangle and two focused on the Glock brothers -- Jason and Troy) to hold the Warriors powerful offense in check. On the offensive end, the Cavaliers played a very deliberate style, trying to keep Wahoo out of their fast break. In spite of all that, Wahoo managed to lead the whole game and come out with a 50 - 41 win. On the low scoring victory, Coach Anderson commented, “We won the state tournament last year, 50 - 48. I’ll take 50 points any day of the week as long as we win the ballgame.”
