vs. Waverly

2/26/1990 vs. Waverly NONCONFERENCE game NEUTRAL DISTRICT TOURNAMENT

Season Game #: 22 / Streak Game #: 60 / Current Record: 22 - 0

WAHOO: 25 ... 26 ... 22 ... 14 -- 87
Waverly: 14 ... 13 ... 25 ... 15 -- 67

It looked like “business as usual” when Wahoo walked off the court at half time in the District B-2 semifinal at Bellevue West High School. The Warriors ended the second quarter with a 10 - 2 scoring spurt, were ahead 51 - 27 and Jason Glock was well on his way to another outstanding game (he would total 42 points). But Waverly never quit and did accomplish something few teams had done -- they outscored the Warriors in the third and fourth quarter. Waverly coach, Mark Cordes pointed out that, “I thought our team came back in the secnd half and played with a lot of heart.” The final result was still a convincing 87 - 67 Wahoo win, but it was better than a lot of teams had done. Mike Dvorak scored 12 points and led the team with 14 rebounds. Ryan Eddie scored 11 and Randy Hoffman, 16.
