Waiting To Exhale

On Thursday morning, March 7, 1991, at the Bob Devaney Sports Center, Wahoo was scheduled to play it’s first game of the 1991 Nebraska Boys State Basketball Tournament. This was the goal the Warriors had focused on from the start of the season. At the beginning of the District Tournament, Coach Anderson had written the number “6” on the chalk board -- the number of games remaining to claim an unprecedented fourth consecutive state title. That number was now “3.” The Wahoo basketball community was holding its collective breath.
