Wahoo began a new season in an old style, blowing out David City 79 - 39. The Warriors jumped on the Scouts early and didn’t let up. A 20 - 7 first quarter lead became 42 - 14 as Keith Klemme drained a three pointer to end the first half. Wahoo kept up the pressure in the third quarter with their half and full court pressure forcing a total of 30 DC turnovers. Although he wasn’t displeased with his team’s effort, David City coach Tony Weinandt pointed out that “We were always a step behind them.” The Warriors were led by Trent Toline with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Jeff Simons (17) and Joel Weyand (13) were also in double figures.
