12/13/1991 vs. Logan View ... NONCONFERENCE / HOME / REGULAR SEASON /

Season Game #: 2 / Streak Game #: 92 / Current Record:

WAHOO: 23 ... 12 ... 8 ... 20 .... 63
Logan View: 10 ... 13 ... 13 ... 16 .... 52

Wahoo opened its home court season with a hard fought 63 - 52 win over Logan View. With Wahoo leading 23 - 10 at the end of the first quarter, it appeared the Warriors would roll over the Raiders much as they had done for the past six seasons. But Logan View hung in there and pulled to within three late in the third period. A Mike Hancock three gave the Warriors a little cushion to end the quarter. Then the Warriors took care of business with junior guard, Joel Weyand leading the way with 10 fourth quarter points. The eleven point win was less than Wahoo had grown accustomed to in its regular season home court games, and although it gave Coach Anderson some cause for concern, he noted that “The bright spot was how we responded.” The tall Raider starting lineup that averaged over 6’3” shut off Wahoo’s inside game, but perimeter scoring took up the slack as Weyand finished with 22 and junior backcourt mate, Justin Anderson contributed 16. Jeff Simons (13) also finished in double figures, scoring all 13 in the first half, including 3 three pointers. With its 92nd consecutive win, Wahoo moved up to number five on the national all time winning streaks.
