Elkhorn Mt. Michael: 12 ... 7 ... 10 ... 8 .... 37

In front of a near capacity crowd, in a steamy gym on a Tuesday night, the Warriors faced one of its toughest opponents of the season. Elkhorn Mt. Michael held Wahoo to its lowest point total in five seasons, but the 44 points was enough to get the win as the Warriors held the Knights to 37 points. It was a defensive battle that was tipped the Warriors’ way by the inside play of Trent Toline who led all scorers with 19 points. Having contained Wahoo’s outside shooters, Elkhorn coach, Jim Kane saw his team come up just a little short: “We had a chance down the stretch but sort of pooped out at the end.” The Knights pulled to within two points with just five minutes left in the game. Then Justin Anderson scored off a Joel Weyand assist and Toline scored on a lob pass. Coach Anderson said of the narrow victory, “I thought our kids showed a lot of poise.”
