It ended. And the outcome was never in doubt as Ogallala defeated Wahoo 84 - 68 in the semifinals of the Nebraska Class B Boys State Basketball Tournament. The Indians built a 23 - 8 lead in the first quarter, passing over and through the Wahoo press to score easy baskets. By halftime, Ogallala led 42 - 26 and they had forced the Warriors to abandon the press and go to a man to man defense. Wahoo did make a run in the fourth quarter, closing to within 9 with three and a half minutes to go in the game. But Ogallala answered with an eight point run of its own. Coach Anderson reflected on the loss, “Ogallala deserved to win. The better team won tonight.”
