In their first Capitol Conference game of the season, Wahoo continued its dominance of opponents. This time it was Arlington on the short end of a lopsided score as Wahoo defeated the Eagles 97 - 52. Getting off to its slowest start of the young season, Wahoo sputtered to a 4 - 3 lead with half of the first quarter nearly gone. Then the Warriors kicked into overdrive. Behind 13 points from Joel Weyand that included two three point goals, Wahoo closed the period on a 20 - 4 run. But the Eagles hung in for the second quarter and the lead grew by only two points, prompting Arlington Coach Jeff Rippe to later comment, “I felt like we were playing with them the first half.” However, the Wahoo crew regained their focus at half time and forced five consecutive turnovers at the start of the third quarter that were converted into eight points and the route was on. Weyand finished with a team high 24 points and was joined by Mike Hancock (19), Greg Hain (17) and Travis Toline (11) in double figures.
