1/8/1993 vs. Conestoga ... CONFERENCE / HOME / REGULAR SEASON /

Season Game #: 7 / Current Record: 7- 0

WAHOO: 22 ... 20 ... 28 ... 21 .... 91
Conestoga: 12 ... 12 ... 15 ... 19 .... 58

Wahoo recorded its seventh win of the season, downing Conestoga 91 - 58 in a game that Wahoo Coach Mick Anderson labeled “disappointing.” A poor shooting night from the three point line (21%) combined with eleven first half turnovers prompted the coach’s criticism. But it was still a commanding victory as the Warriors posted 20 or more points in every quarter. Wahoo was able to apply its full court defense and once again capitalized on the opponents turnovers (28). And the Wahoo offensive attack was once again a balanced effort with all five starters in double figures: Travis Toline (24), Joel Weyand (16), Greg Hain (13), Mike Hancock (12) and Justin Anderson (10). Still, Wahoo gave up 25 points to Conestoga’s Quentin Esser (the best individual effort of the season against Wahoo) and didn’t pull away from the Cougars until the last half of the second quarter. But after looking at the final score, Coach Anderson commented, “A lot of teams would like to have 91 points and it was an off night.”
