1/5/1993 vs. Elkhorn Mt. Michael ... NONCONFERENCE / AWAY / REGULAR SEASON /

Season Game #: 6 / Current Record: 6 - 0

WAHOO: 17 ... 22 ... 23 ... 21 .... 83
Elkhorn Mt. Michael: 13 ... 9 ... 10 ... 13 .... 45

Wahoo faced its toughest test of the season, playing at undefeated Elkhorn Mt. Michael. The Warriors more than passed the test with an 83 - 45 victory. Leading by only four at the end of the first quarter, the Warriors went on a 13 - 3 run at the start of the second and led 39 - 22 at half. Once again it was a stifling press defense that spurred Wahoo to victory, forcing 27 Mt. Michael turnovers, 19 in the first half. Mt. Michael Coach Jim Kane commented, “... they may be as quick a team as Mick (Anderson) has had.” All five Wahoo starters were in double figures, led by Mike Hancock’s 20. Joel Weyand had 19, Travis Toline and Justin Anderson, 14 each, and Greg Hain had 10. The 83 points was the lowest of the season for the Warriors, but Coach Anderson noted, “You’re just not going to score 100 points against Jim Kane’s teams.”

Noteworthy:
Leading Scorer: Mike Hancock 20 pts.; Assists -- Joel Weyand 9 ; Steals-- Greg Hain 6
