Wahoo qualified for its seventh consecutive Capitol Conference Tournament championship game by easily defeating Valley 83 - 43. The Warriors limited Valley to only 3 first quarter points, forcing eight turnovers in the period. Valley Coach, Charlie Doeden called two first quarter timeouts to try and stem the Warrior tide, but it had little effect as Wahoo rolled to a 23 - 3 lead. A second quarter burst pushed the lead to 34 - 3 and eventually to 47 - 13 at the half. Coach Anderson commented, “We were able to get out of the chutes quick again. ... allowed us to rest our starters.” Mike Hancock led all scorers with 21. Joel Weyand scored 20, while Greg Hain was also in double figures with 16.
