Wahoo racked up 35 first quarter points to take a 35 - 12 lead over Bennington and went on to register a 103 - 55 win. The previous night, Mike Hancock, the state’s all-time leading three point shooter, was held to no three’s against Ashland. He made up for it by connecting on two in the first period and six for the game as he led all scorers with 29 points. Sophomore MIke Simons also had a low scoring game against Ashland and he came back with the best scoring effort of his young career, pouring in 25 points. Greg Hain also reached double figures with 14. The Mike & Mike show got off to a fast start, scoring 14 of Wahoo’s first 16 points as the Warriors surged to a 16 - 2 lead. The Wahoo starters went to the bench in the fourth period and the Warrior subs extended the lead as Ryan Fiala netted 7 points in the quarter.
