12/29/1993 vs. St. Joe Benton MO ... NONCONFERENCE / NEUTRAL / HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT / Quarter Final

Season Game #: 7 / Current Record: 6 - 1

WAHOO: 19 ... 17 ... 12 ... 23 .... 71
St. Joe Benton MO: 8 ... 11 ... 9 ... 19 .... 47

Perhaps feeling a little fallout from the previous night’s loss to McClancy NY, Wahoo sputtered at the start of their second game of the Prep Classic Tournament and fell behind St. Joe Benton 6 - 1. But with Greg Hain and Mike Simons leading the way with six points each, the Warriors came alive and put on one of their patented scoring spurts, converting Cardinal turnovers into points and posting a 19 - 8 lead at the end of the first quarter. Another eleven point run at the end of the half gave the Warriors a commanding 36 - 19 lead. Benton coach Mike Zeisel praised the Wahoo effort, indicating that it was not only Wahoo’s quickness, but their court savvy that brought his team’s demise: “They know where everybody is on the floor as well as any team I’ve seen.” Coach Anderson was pleased that the Warriors were able to bounce back from a defeat: “We needed a win to just get our momentum back, our heads up.” Mike Hancock led Wahoo with 19 points, followed by Simons and Hain with 15 each.

Noteworthy:
Leading Scorer: Mike Hancock 19 pts.
