After putting up 45 first quarter points in the first round of the Wahoo Holiday Tournament vs. Raymond Central, Wahoo came up a little short in the finals against Schuyler -- the Warriors only scored 44. The Warriors took a 44 - 10 lead and went on to route Schuyler 115 - 54. It was a nearly perfect first period as Wahoo missed just one out of seventeen shots and was a perfect 5 for 5 from three point range. Mike Hancock scored 17 of his 22 in that first period. Also scoring 22 for Wahoo was Travis Toline who was 6 of 7 from the line and had a 13 points in the third quarter. Joining the two leaders in double figures were Greg Hain (14) and Josh Anderson (15). In all, eleven players scored for Wahoo. Schuyler Coach Jeff Droge believed his team actually did most of the things they thought they needed to do to compete with Wahoo, but noted that “Wahoo put the ball in the hole like no one I’ve ever seen before.” Coach Anderson commented on his team’s performance in the tournament: “These last two games are probably as good of first quarters that we’ve had, and we’ve had some good ones.”
