3/1/1994 vs. Omaha Roncalli ... NONCONFERENCE / NEUTRAL / DISTRICT TOURNAMENT / Finals

Season Game #: 25 / Current Record: 24 - 1

WAHOO: 29 ... 22 ... 16 ... 17 .... 84
Omaha Roncalli: 12 ... 22 ... 16 ... 9 .... 59

Wahoo won its eighth consecutive district championship by defeating Omaha Roncalli 84 - 59. The Warriors shocked Roncalli by claiming a 29 - 12 first quarter lead. The Roncalli offense stalled early as Wahoo employed “junk” defenses to hold down the Crimson Pride’s leading scorers. By the time Roncalli adjusted, Wahoo had a big lead. But the Pride came back in the second half to cut the lead to single digits at 57 - 48 half way through the third period. Wahoo responded with a 20 - 4 run and eventually led in the fourth quarter by 77 - 54. Mike Hancock scored 10 in the initial first quarter blast and then came up big in the fourth quarter when the Warriors were threatened, scoring another ten, including two treys. All five of the Wahoo starters finished in double figures. In addition to Hancock’s team leading 29, Greg Hain chipped in 18, Mike Simons 13, Travis Toline 12, and Josh Anderson 10.
