Wahoo entered its ninth consecutive state tournament as the number one seed, but was upset by number eight seed, Fairbury, 60 - 59. The Warriors were in the lead most of the game, but couldn’t shake the Jeffs and Fairbury knotted the score at 43 the end of the third period. The game came down to the last minute with Wahoo leading 59 -58. Fairbury’s Ryan Hadden was fouled with 21 seconds remaining and made both freethrows to give the Jeffs the lead. After a timeout with sixteen seconds remaining, Wahoo went for the final shot, but Eric Eddie’s 25 footer came up short and Fairbury had pulled off the upset. The Warriors were led in scoring by Mike Simons with 25 while Eddie and Josh Anderson each contributed 14.
