Class C2 #1 Wahoo posted a third consecutive big win by downing #2 Grand Island Central Catholic 69 - 55. Early in the second half, the Warriors found themselves in unfamiliar territory, trailing the Crusaders 30 - 38. But after a timeout, Wahoo put together a run that gave them a lead they kept for the rest of the game. During the run, Mike Simons found Ryan Fiala twice inside for baskets, Eric Eddie got a steal and a layup as well as a three pointer, and Simons scored on a put-back. Wahoo led 47 - 42 at the end of the third quarter. Early in the fourth, Wahoo stretched the lead to 51 - 42, but the Crusaders kept fighting back to trail by only five, 53 - 58. However, Wahoo didn’t panic and a fast break basket by Josh Anderson and a nine-of-ten finish at the foul line gave Wahoo the final victory. Simons led the Warriors with 23 points and Josh Anderson netted 19.
