THE YEAR

Lincoln Journal / Star final regular season rankings.
The LJS noted that Wahoo and Columbus Scotus were in the same district, Ashland and Mt. Michael were in the same district, and Norfolk Catholic and Madison were in the same subdistrict. You should note that Fairbury wasn't even listed as a "contender."
repeat performances ... sluggish ... bottle it up ... uh oh

Wahoo's 1995 district tournament experience would be different in that the Warriors were returning to Class C1 and would have "sub-district" play – two games in two nights with the winner advancing to the district final a week later.* In the subdistrict, Wahoo was the overwhelming favorite to win while the finals looked to present more of a challenge with sixth ranked Columbus Scotus the most likely opponent.  Still, both the Lincoln Journal Star and the Omaha World Herald were projecting Wahoo to make a ninth consecutive trip to the state tournament.

*Wahoo was Class B in the 1970's, became Class C1 when the NSAA instituted a six class system in 1984, and returned to Class B in 1988.
