All the Wahoo teams since 1988 had faced the challenge of being compared with their super successful predecessors. With a new coach and mostly new players, there was even more of an inclination to make such comparisons for the 1995 Warriors. Coach Watton claimed the team wasn't affected: "They aren't caught in the trap of comparisons to anybody else. They compare themselves to themselves, and that's a healthy thing to do." Still, the comparisons would be drawn. And in the final analysis, the 1995 Warriors compared favorably in many ways, most importantly in the win column. By any standard, the Wahoo basketball team of 1995 was, like its predecessors, a winner. |
