Make it ten straight! Wahoo won its way into the state tournament with a 75 - 59 victory over Omaha Flanagan. Mike Simons (26) and Jeremy Herrmann (24) combined for 50 points to spearhead the Wahoo win. Josh Anderson posted 9 assists as he consistently found Herrmann ahead of the Flanagan defenders on the break and behind their zone in the half court. 28 of Wahoo’s 30 fieldgoals came on layups or tipins. Coach Watton commented, “Josh did a good job coming up the court and threading the needle with a lot of those passes inside.” Flanagan looked like they’d make a game of it early with a 8-7 lead, but Wahoo outscored the Chargers 13 - 6 to open up a 20-14 lead at the end of one. A 12 - 0 start of the second put the Warriors on solid ground for the win and Flanagan never got closer than eight points the rest of the game. Anderson also scored in double figures with 14.
