Wahoo finished their regular season with a 77-71 win over Schuyler. It looked like the Warriors were in trouble early as Schuyler claimed a 26-17 first quarter lead, eventually pushing the advantage to 30-18 in the second quarter. But Josh Anderson scored six and Mike Simons netted five as Wahoo then went on a 13-2 run, eventually taking a 40-39 lead into half time. Coach Watton commented, “Once we got within two or three points, I felt a lot better about our situation.” Then came Wahoo’s third quarter surge. Mike Simons scored back to back three’s that put Wahoo ahead 56-42. Schuyler coach Jeff Droge commented, “We just couldn’t execute in the third quarter and their pressure combined with our lack of execution caused us trouble.” In the final period Schuyler pulled to within five, but Wahoo netted 14 of 16 freethrows in the quarter to close out the win. Simons led the scoring with 31. Eric Eddie (22) and Anderson (16) also reached double figures.
