The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Raymond Central Mustangs 73-43 in Capitol Conference action on Saturday night.
Max Cook got the Warriors started off by hitting two treys to open the game and put Wahoo up 6-0. Cook had 13 of his game high 17 points in the first half. The game was close in the first quarter. Central led 11-10 after a Nathan Brenner basket. A Josh Discher basket gave the Warriors a 12-11 lead, and they would not trail again. A Cole Barry steal and 3-point play to end the quarter put Wahoo up 15-11 after one quarter.
The Warriors scored the first 7 points of the second quarter, including two baskets from Max Cook, and a Cole Barry basket, to go up 22-11. A Sam Cook basket with two seconds left in the half sent the Warriors to halftime up 34-19.
Wahoo increased the lead throughout the quarter. A Sean Lindgren basket closed the third quarter with Wahoo ahead 54-30.
Reserves played most of the fourth quarter. Derek Fiala scored 8 points in the quarter behind two treys, to close out the Warrior win.
Max Cook led four Warriors in double figures. Cole Barry scored 13 points, Jake Barry had 12, and Greg Milliken contributed 10.
Jake Barry led the Warriors with 8 boards. Greg Milliken had 5 steals, and Max Cook had 7 assists.
Wahoo shot 62 percent from the floor (31-50), and forced 23 Mustang turnovers.
Wahoo improved to 7-5, while Raymond Central fell to 1-11. Wahoo will next host Fort Calhoun on Tuesday night in the first round of the Capitol Conference Tournament.
