The third quarter saw Bennington cut into the Warrior lead. Back-to-back treys from Tim Dotzler and Michael Wickham cut the Warrior lead to 37-35 with 3 minutes left in the quarter. A 7-2 run to end the quarter put Wahoo back up 44-37 after three quarter.

Following a Bennington basket, another Milliken trey pushed the lead back to 10 at 52-42. The Badgers would get no closer than 7 the rest of the way. Two Jon Abbott baskets and solid free throw shooting down the stretch clinched the win for the Warriors.

“It was a very solid first game for us. Our kids played hard, and answered the challenge when Bennington made their run late in the third quarter. Greg hit a couple of big three’s for us in the second half. Max Cook played terrific defense out top on the 1-3-1. Sean Lindgren played really well for us tonight, and Jon Abbott gave us some quality minutes off the bench. We do have to do a better job on the glass and take better care of the ball,” said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.

Greg Milliken led Wahoo with 22 points and 6 boards. Max Cook added 13 points and 6 steals. Sean Lindgren contributed 13 points and 5 boards. Josh Discher led Wahoo on the glass with 7 boards and added 9 points.

Wahoo forced 22 Badger turnovers, but turned it over 20 times themselves. Bennington outrebounded Wahoo 32-28.

The Warriors face Seward at home on Saturday.
