vs. Columbus Scotus

2/8/11 At Columbus Scotus

Wahoo 64
Columbus Scotus 40

The Wahoo Warriors traveled to Columbus on Tuesday night to take on the Columbus Scotus Shamrocks, and come home with a 64-40 victory.

The Warriors jumped out to a 10-4 lead, but Scotus scored the game's next 12 points to take a16-10 lead. The Warriors then went on a 10-0. Baskets from Christian Hohl and Greg Milliken were sandwiched by two treys from Max Cook, to put Wahoo up 20-16. A third trey from Cook and a three point play from Milliken put Wahoo up 28-21 at halftime.

In the third quarter, the Warriors scored the first four points of two Greg Milliken baskets to push the lead to 32-21. Milliken had eight third quarter points as Wahoo slowly opened up the game. Wahoo led 44-28 after three quarters before going on to the 64-40 win.

“The first quarter and a half were a little shaky for us, but after that, we played pretty well. Our defensive pressure was very good, as we forced 34 turnovers and gave up just 40 points. Two areas of concern are that we had 19 turnovers and got outrebounded by 6. Sean Lindgren played great on the offensive end, Max Cook really got us jump started with his three treys in the second quarter, and Greg Milliken had a great game for us.” Said Coach Kevin Scheef.

Milliken led the Warriors with 22 points, 6 boards, and 6 steals. Cook had 13 points and 7 steals. Lindgren had 13 points on 5-7 shooting from the floor. The Warriors were 15-17 (88.2%) from the foul line for the game.

Wahoo improves to 14-5 and will next travel to Ashland on Saturday to take on the Bluejays. Scotus drops to 7-11.
