D.C. West 47 First Round of Sub-Districts

The Wahoo Warriors defeated D.C. West 83-47 in first round sub-district action Tuesday night in Blair.

The Warriors got out to a great start as they led 25-5 after one quarter. Senior, Greg Milliken had 13 first quarter points, as he was 6-7 from the field in the first quarter. The lead grew in the second quarter, and Wahoo led 47-16 at halftime. In addition to Milliken's 17 first half points, Max Cook had 10 first half points.

The lead was 67-31 after three quarters, before the reserves finished out the fourth quarter.

Coach Scheef: “I was very pleased with how we played tonight. I thought we played very unselfishly tonight. We were making the extra pass tonight, which was great to see. We took care of business early tonight. It was a very good win for us. Greg Milliken shot the ball extremely well for us. Max played well again, and Jon Abbott and Sean Lindgren played very well also.”

Greg Milliken led the Warriors with 23 points on 11-17 shooting from the field, and 5 boards. Max Cook added 17 points on just 7 shots from the floor. Cook was 5-7 from the field and 5-6 from the line, in addition to his 8 steals, 6 assists, and 0 turnovers. Sean Lindgren scored 10 points, as did Jon Abbott, who also had 6 boards. Cole Barry added 5 boards.

The Warriors shot 51% from the floor compared to D.C. West's 32% shooting. Wahoo was also 24-33 from the line, 72.7%. Wahoo forced 24 D.C. West turnovers, while committing just 11.

Wahoo improves to 19-5 and advances to the Sub-District final on Thursday night at Blair to face Bishop Neumann. D.C. West ends it's season at 12-11.
