The Wahoo Warriors defeated the D.C. West Falcons 74-41 on Saturday in Valley. The game was close for a quarter.  The Warriors led 16-13 after one quarter.  The Warriors opened it up in the second quarter outscoring D.C. 29-10 to take a 45-23 lead into halftime. In the third quarter, the Warriors outscored the Falcons 20-7 to lead 65-30 after three quarters. 

Coach Scheef: “It was a good win for us.  We played very well after the first quarter. It was good to see our press cause them some problems in the second quarter, and we were able to break the game open.  We needed to play well going into a big week for us with games vs. Raymond Central and Norfolk Catholic.”

Max Cook led the Warriors with 20 points, 8 steals, 5 boards, and 5 assists.  Jon Abbott had 13 points and 6 boards. Casey Brown added 12 points, while Ben Scheef contributed 7 boards and 7 assists. Tyler Kavan had 4 steals, and Jake Wilson had 5 robounds. The Warriors outrebounded D.C. 36-23, and forced 24 Falcon turnovers. 

Wahoo improved to 12-0, while D.C. West drops to 5-8.  The Warriors host Raymond Central on Tuesday, before traveling to Norfolk on Friday to take on the defending Class C-1 Champion Knights.
