The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Fort Calhoun Pioneers 93-42 on Friday night, in Capitol Conference action. Fort Calhoun jumped out to a 7-2 lead to start the game. The Warriors, would then score the next 21 points to take a 23-7 lead, and led 23-8 after one period. Wahoo stretched the lead to 43-22 at halftime, and led 75-35 after three quarters. 

Coach Scheef: “After a hard fought, emotional game last night, I was worried as to how much energy we would have tonight, but our kids just did a great job.  They played extremely hard. Our defense was very good, and we shared the ball and played very unselfishly. It was a very good way to head into the Holiday break.”

Max Cook led the Warriors with 28 points, 6 steals, and 4 assists. Ben Scheef had 15 points, 10 boards, and 4 assists.  Cook and Scheef were both 9-9 from the free throw line on the night.  Jon Abbott had 14 points and 7 boards.  Mitch Shukis added 10 points and 5 steals. Casey Brown contributed 9 points. The Warriors forced 30 Pioneer turnovers, and outrebounded Calhoun 34-25. Wahoo improves to 7-0, while Fort Calhoun drops to 4-2. 

Wahoo’s next action will be in the Holiday Tournament at Bishop Neumann where they will take on Lincoln Christian in the first round.
