The Wahoo Warriors defeated Capitol Conference foe Syracuse at Syracuse on Friday night 62-35. The Warriors led just 15-13 after one quarter.  In the second quarter, the Warriors scored the first 8 points.  Casey Brown scored two of the baskets, Max Cook had a basket and free throw, and Ben Scheef added a free throw in the run to put Wahoo up 23-13. The Rockets though would cut the Warrior lead to 4 at halftime 26-22.  The Rockets Micah Buller had 15 of the Rockets 22 first half points. 

The Warriors were able to take control in the second half. Wahoo outscored Syracuse 18-8 in the third quarter to take a 44-30 lead into the fourth quarter. Wahoo outscored Syracuse 18-5 in the fourth quarter to take the 62-35 win. 

Coach Scheef: “We did not play a real sharp first half.  We let them get too many open looks and they were able to knock them down.  We also did not attack their box and one very well in the first half.  It was good to see the kids settle down and play better in the second half, and they started playing with more energy and attacked their box and one much better."

Max Cook led the Warriors with 14 points.  Jon Abbott and Casey Brown each contributed 12 and Ben Scheef added 9. Abbott also had 6 boards, 3 steals and 3 assists. Brown had 5 boards, a game high 6 steals and 5 assists. Scheef had a game high 14 boards, 4 steals and 4 assists. 

Wahoo improves to 10-0 and will travel to Crete on Saturday to face the Cardinals.
