D.C. West 39 First Round of Capitol Conference Tournament

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the D.C. West Falcons in the first round of the Capitol Conference tournament on Monday in Wahoo 70-39.

Wahoo jumped out to a 10-0 lead early in the first quarter. The lead was 19-4 after one quarter, and 37-10 at halftime. After three quarters, the Warriors led 58-21.

Jonathan Abbott led the Warriors with 16 points on 6-7 free throw shooting, 6 steals and 4 boards. Ben Scheef added 14 points, 6 boards, and 5 steals. Jake Wilson had 10 points and 4 boards. Brook Stuart added 7 points. Quinn McGill provided 6 steals and 3 assists.

The Warriors forced 21 first half turnovers by the Falcons and limited them to just 29.6% shooting from the field. Wahoo was 20-26 (76.9%) from the free throw line.

Wahoo improves to 15-0 and will face the Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays on Thursday night in the tournament semi-finals.
