The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Lincoln Lutheran Warriors 65-32 on Tuesday night in the final game before the Christmas break.
Lincoln Lutheran jumped out to a 7-0 lead on Wahoo. Jake Scheef got Wahoo started with a lay up followed by a three point play. Baskets by Tyler Kavan, Jonathan Abbott, and another three point from Jake Scheef put Wahoo up 12-7 after one quarter.
In the second quarter, a Quinn McGill lay ups, followed by five more points from Jake Scheef capped a 19-0 run, that put Wahoo up 19-7. Wahoo would go to the half with a 23-11 lead.
Wahoo would break the game open in the third quarter behind nine points in the quarter from Jonathan Abbott, and eight more from Jake Scheef, to lead 50-23 after three quarters.
Reserves would play most of the fourth quarter to finish out the scoring.
Jake Scheef led Wahoo with 23 points on 9-12 shooting from the floor, and 5 rebounds. Jonathan Abbott had 13 points and 5 boards. Tyler Kavan added 11 points. Jake Wilson had a game high 9 boards and 3 blocks. Ben Scheef had 8 assists, 6 steals, and 6 boards. Quinn McGill had 6 steals and 3 assists.
Wahoo forced 29 Lincoln Lutheran turnovers, and outrebounded them by five.
Wahoo improves to 6-0, while Lincoln Lutheran falls to 5-3. The next action for Wahoo will be in the Holiday Tournament, where they will face Lincoln Christian.
