Wahoo vs. Arlington

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Arlington Eagles 52-45 in Capitol Conference action in Arlington on Friday night.

The first half was close throughout.   Wahoo led 11-9 after one quarter.  A Brendan Lacey bucket gave Wahoo a 5 point lead at 24-19 late in the first.  The half ended with Wahoo up 25-22.

The Warriors scored the first 5 points of the second half on a Jake Ruzicka bucket and a Billy Hancock trey to push the lead to 30-22. The third quarter would end with Wahoo up 38-32.

In the fourth quarter, Wahoo was still up 38-34 when a Jake Ruzicka bucket followed by a Billy Hancock trey put Wahoo up 9 at 43-34. The Eagles would score the next 5 points to cut the lead to 43-39.  Two Dylan Egr free throws pushed the lead back to 6 at 45-39. Two Cameron Quick free throws made it 47-39, and the Warriors would close out the win at 52-45.

Jake Ruzicka led Wahoo with 16 points and 6 boards.  Brendan Lacey had 12 points and 5 boards. Cameron Quick had 8 points and 7 boards.  Billy Hancock had 7 points, 4 steals and took 2 charges.

The Warriors struggled from the field, shooting just 34.9% for the game.  They committed just 9 turnovers though, while forcing 19 Eagle turnovers.

Wahoo won their 7th in a row in improving to 10-8.  Arlington dropped to 6-12.  The Warriors travel to GICC today to take on the Crusaders.
