The Wahoo Warriors were defeated by the Bennington Badgers 65-42 on Thursday night in the season opener. 

Wahoo trailed 16-6 after one quarter and 31-16 at halftime.  The Badgers gradually increased the lead throughout the third quarter.  The Badgers front line went 6’6, 6’6, and 6’4, while the Warriors started just one player taller than 5’10.

Josh Abbott and Brendan Lacey led Wahoo with 10 points a piece.  Bart Hiscock had 29 for Bennington.  The Badgers outrebounded Wahoo 44-21.  They were 8-20 from the three point line, while Wahoo shot just 25.6% from the field. (11-43).

The Warriors will travel to Seward on Saturday afternoon to take on the Bluejays.
