Wahoo vs. Columbus Lakeview

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Columbus Lakeview Vikings 69-39 on Friday night for their 10th consecutive win.

The Warriors had a slow start as Lakeview jumped out to a 9-5 lead and led 14-7 after one quarter.

Wahoo responded with a big second quarter, outscoring Lakeview 25-5.  Jake Ruzicka had 12 second quarter points, and Cameron Quick had 8 in the quarter.  The Warriors led 32-19 at halftime.

Wahoo continued to open up the lead in the second half.  Wahoo led 52-31 after three quarter, and were never threatened.

Cameron Quick and Jake Ruzicka both scored 19 points a piece to lead Wahoo. Quick was 8-11 from the field and 3-3 from the line to go with 4 steals.  Ruzicka added 7 boards and 6 steals. Brendan Lacey added 11 points. Will Shanahan added 8 points and 4 blocks. Billy Hancock, Dylan Egr, and Mitchell McGill added 4 assists apiece.

Wahoo shot 57.1% from the field compared to 33.3% for the Vikings.

Wahoo improves to 13-8 and travels to Ashland today to take on the Bluejays.  Columbus Lakeview falls to 7-14.

“We were a little sluggish to start the game.  I was worried about a letdown after the Scotus game, and we had a little bit of that, but we got things going after the first quarter.  Cameron Quick and Jake Ruzicka both had really good nights for us.  Our defense was pretty solid all the way through.? -- Coach Kevin Scheef.
