The Wahoo Warriors were defeated by the Platteview Trojans in Capitol Conference action on Friday night in Wahoo 85-71.

The Warriors started out well. They led by 10 late in the first quarter at 24-14 after a Ben Shanahan jumper. The score was 24-17 after one.

Wahoo still led 28-23 halfway through the third second quarter, but the Trojans closed out the half on a 13-2 run to take a 36-30 lead into the locker room.

A Trojan trey to start the third put Platteview up 39-30. The Warriors went on a 7-0 run, capped by a Brendan Lacey lay up to cut the lead to 39-37. The Trojans would steadily pull away from that point on. They led 60-46 after three, and maintained that spread in the fourth quarter for the 85-71 win.

Platteview’s 6’10 Sophomore, Brady Heiman was too much for the Warriors, as he had a triple double with 25 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 blocks.

Cameron Quick led Wahoo with 18 points and 6 boards. Jake Ruzicka also had 18 points and 5 boards. Brendan Lacey added 13 points, and Dylan Egr had 10 points, 5 steals, and 4 assists. Will Shanahan had 8 points and 6 boards.

Wahoo was outrebounded 40-25, and had 10 shots blocked.

Wahoo falls to 3-8 and will travel to D.C. West on Saturday afternoon. Platteview improves to 10-3.
