The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Lincoln Christian Crusaders 83-63 in the first round of the Wahoo Holiday Tournament on Thursday.

The Crusaders jumped on the Warriors early.  They lead 7-0, and 15-7.  They led by 5 at 20-15 after one quarter.  Nine first quarter turnovers contributed to the Warriors falling behind early.

An 11-2 run to start the second quarter, gave the Warriors a 26-22 lead.  Two Will Shanahan baskets, and a Brendan Lacey trey got the Warriors going.  Wahoo led 36-30 at the half.

Wahoo could not shake Christian in the third quarter and the game remained close.  A Christian trey to close the third quarter cut the Wahoo lead to 48-46.

A Cameron Quick bucket, a Jake Ruzicka trey and dunk, and baskets from Dylan Egr and Brendan Lacey capped an 11-2 run to break the game open at 59-48.  The Warriors contined to build the lead throughout the fourth before ending with the 83-63 win.

Wahoo was 26-36 (72.2%) from inside the arc and 32-55 (58.2%) from the floor.  The Warriors outrebounded the Crusaders 28-22 and forced 25 Crusader turnovers.

Brendan Lacey led the Warriors with 22 points on 8-12 shooting from the field. Jake Ruzicka had 15 points and 5 boards. Will Shanahan had 14 points on 7-10 shooting from the floor and 5 boards. Cameron Quick had 12 points on 6-8 shooting from the floor. Dylan Egr added 10 points, 5 boards, and 6 assists.   Bill Hancock contributed 7 assists and 5 steals.
