Wahoo vs. Lincoln Lutheran

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Lincoln Lutheran Warriors 89-52 in the  second round of sub-district action Tuesday night at Waverly.

The Warriors rode their hot three point shooting to the win.  They made a school record 18 treys, which is also 9th all time in the state of Nebraska.  The previous school record was 17 treys set in 1991 against Valley.

Wahoo jumped out to a lead of 17-3, and led 30-9 after one quarter.  Dylan Egr hit five first quarter treys.

Wahoo continued to extend the lead in the second quarter, as they built leads of 35-10 and 44-15.  The halftime score was 56-28.  Jake Ruzicka added two second quarter treys, Brendan Lacey added two, and Dylan Egr added another trey.  Billy Hancock also had three first half treys.

The third quarter saw Wahoo go cold, but still led 66-44.  The fourth quarter saw Wahoo open up the lead again, and led 79-46 with 5 minutes left.

Wahoo was 13-17 from behind the arc in the first half.  Wahoo outrebounded Lincoln Lutheran 31-25, and forced 24 Lutheran turnovers.

Dylan Egr had a career high 30 points on 7-12 from behind the arc, and 10-17 overall from the floor, to go with 4 assists.  Billy Hancock had 15 points on 5-10 shooting from 3 point land, to go with 6 boards.  Cameron Quick added 13 points, 5 boards, and 5 steals.  Jake Ruzicka had 8 points and 6 assists. Brendan Lacey added 8 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals.  Will Shanahan added 10 boards.

Wahoo improves to 20-4 and will face Bishop Neumann on Thursday night in the Sub-District final at Waverly.  Lincoln Lutheran ends it’s season at 12-11.
