Wahoo vs. Logan View Scribner-Snyder

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Logan View Scribner-Snyder Patriots 62-53 on Saturday afternoon in Scribner.

The first quarter was close throughout.  A Dylan Egr trey put Wahoo up 16-12 after one quarter.

A Jake Ruzicka trey extended the lead to 19-12 to open the second quarter.  The Patriots would then go a 9-0 run to take a 21-19 lead.  A Will Shanahan bucket closed the half with the Warriors up 30-26.

The Warriors led 37-36, when Jake Ruzicka scored 6 consecutive points. A Billy Hancock free throw ended the run with Wahoo up 44-36.  The third quarter ended with Wahoo up 45-38.

Two Patriot free throws to open the 4th quarter cut the lead to 45-40. Another 6-0 run with baskets from Ruzicka and two buckets from Shanahan broke the game open and put Wahoo up 51-40.  Logan View would close to 51-45.  A Will Shanahan lay up made it 53-45.  Ruzicka would score 7 straight points for the Warriors down the stretch to allow Wahoo to hold on to the 62-53 win.

“We got some good ball movement against their 1-3-1 to get some some good looks.  We shot it well.  We just did not take very good care of the ball.  23 turnovers is way too many.  We had to battle against a good team.  It was a good win for us.  Will Shanahan and Jake Ruzicka had huge games for us.” Said Coach Kevin Scheef.

Jake Ruzicka led Wahoo with 25 points on 10-14 shooting from the field to go with 7 boards and 6 assists.  Will Shanahan had 21 points on 9-10 shooting from the field, and 8 boards.  Dylan Egr added 8 points , 5 boards, and 4 assists.

Wahoo shot 54.5% from the field, (24-44), and was 10-11 from the line. (90.9%).

The Warriors improved to 3-1, while Logan View S.S. drops to 3-2.

The Warriors next game will be next Friday at home when the host the Fort Calhoun Pioneers.
