The Wahoo Warriors were defeated by the Bishop Neumann Cavaliers 75-46 in the Sub-District Finals on Thursday night in Waverly.

Neumann jumped out to a 20-8 lead after one quarter.  Neumann increased the lead to 27-12 early in the second.  The Warriors then went on a 10-2 run to cut the lead to 29-22.  Neumann then went to half with a 39-26 halftime lead.

Wahoo scored the first four points of the third quarter to cut the lead to 39-30, but that would be as close as the Warriors would get.  The lead grew to 56-37 after three quarters, and Neumann continued to extend the lead throughout the 4th quarter.

Neumann was 10-19 from 3 point range, and outrebounded the Warriors 33-19.

Jake Ruzicka led Wahoo with 15 points, and Brendan Lacey added 9.

Wahoo drops to 20-5 and now must hope for a Gothenburg win in their district final, in order to qualify for a wild card birth.  Neumann improved to 22-3.

COACHES CORNER
“Neumann has such great length and athleticism.  They guard extremely well, and made everything tough for us offensively.  They got off to such a hot start, it just put us behind the 8 ball all night.” -- Coach Kevin Scheef.
