2/19/19 At Schuyler, First Round of Sub-Districts The Wahoo Warriors defeated the David City Scouts 79-31 in the first round of Sub-Districts at Schuyler on a snowy Tuesday night. The Warriors jumped out to a 22-9 lead after one quarter, and extended the lead to 40-17 at halftime. The lead grew to 67-27 after three quarters. “We came out and did what we needed to do. Thomas Waido was really good on the defensive end, and it was good to see Trey Scheef shoot the ball well from the perimeter.” Said Coach Kevin Scheef. Trey Scheef led Wahoo with 17 points on 4-5 shooting from three. Winston Cook had 16 points and 7 assists. Thomas Waido had a game high 9 steals, 9 boards, and 14 points. Blake Lacey had 11 points. Karson Hesser had 6 points, and 6 boards. Wahoo forced 23 David City turnovers, while committing just 4. Wahoo outrebounded the Scouts 34-24. Wahoo improves to 21-3, while David City ends their season at 12-11. The Warriors will face David City Aquinas on Thursday night at Schuyler, after the Monarchs upset Bishop Neumann. |
