Norfolk Catholic      32

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Norfolk Catholic Knights on Saturday afternoon 81-32, in a game postponed from Friday due to the weather.

The game was close early.  Wahoo led 15-13 late in the first quarter.  Wahoo would score the last 8 points of the quarter, and would outscore Norfolk Catholic 35-3 over the last 10 minutes of the half, to take a 50-16 lead at halftime.  The lead was 70-29 after three quarters.

“We played well.  Once we started forcing some turnovers, we were able to get some run outs and easy buckets, and we got on a roll. It was a good game for us heading into the Conference Tournament on Monday.” Said Coach Kevin Scheef.

Winston Cook led five Warriors in double figures with 16 points and 8 boards. Blake Lacey had 14 points. Trevin Luben, Thomas Waido, and Karson Hesser each added 12 points a piece.  Waido added 5 steals, and 4 assists.

Wahoo had just 6 turnovers, while forcing 22 Knight turnovers.  Wahoo shot 61% (37-60), while Norfolk Catholic was just 10-41, (24.4%) from the floor.

Wahoo improves to 12-3 and will host Raymond Central on Monday night in the first round of the Capitol Conference Tournament.  Norfolk Catholic falls to 6-8.
