The Wahoo Warriors defeated the D.C. West Falcons 90-62 on Saturday afternoon in Valley, in Capitol Conference action.
The Warriors had a huge first quarter and jumped out to a 32-17 lead after one quarter. Triston Keeney got the Warriors going with 12 first quarter points.
Wahoo continued to increase the lead in the second quarter and went to halftime leading 57-29. The third quarter ended with Wahoo up 90-49.
“I was really happy with our execution today. I thought we were cutting well and finding guys with open looks at the rim. We also showed a better toughness going after rebounds which was really good to see.” Said Coach Kevin Scheef.
Triston Keeney led the way with 20 points on 8-12 shooting from the field, to go with 7 boards and 4 assists. Owen Hancock had a career high 13 points and 5 boards. Thomas Waido had 13 points and 5 steals. Trey Scheef added 11 points, 6 boards, and 4 assists. Braden Harris had 8 points and 4 steals.
The Warriors forced 28 Falcon turnovers, including 19 in the first half, while committing just 11. Wahoo was 33-45 (73.3%) from two point range for the game.
Wahoo improves to 11-1, while D.C. West drops to 7-6. The Warriors will host Raymond Central on Tuesday night.
