The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Blair Bears 67-60 on Tuesday night in Blair.
Blair had an early lead, and led 16-13 late in the first quarter. Back to back buckets from Garrett Grandgenett gave the Warriors a 17-16 lead after one.
The game stayed close throughout the second quarter. An Owen Hancock jumper at the end of the half, gave Wahoo a 32-28 halftime lead.
A trey from Blair cut the Warrior lead to 32-31 to open the third quarter. A trey from Owen Hancock, a three point play from Trevor Kasischke, a basket from Garrett Grandgenett, and two free throws from Grandgenett completed a 10-0 run and put the Warriors up 42-31. An Owen Hancock put back at the end of the quarter put Wahoo up 48-36 after three.
Two Garrett Grandgenett free throws gave Wahoo it’s largest lead at 50-36. The Bears would cut the lead to 6 at 52-46. Two Marcus Glock free throws, three Trevor Kasischke free throws, and a Garrett Grandgenett bucket pushed the Warrior lead back to 59-46, and the Warriors would go on to the 67-60 win.
Trevor Kasischke led the Warriors with 23 points on 7-10 shooting from the field, and 8-9 from the line, to go with 4 steals. Garrett Grandgenett had a career high 20 points on 7-10 shooting from the field and 6-7 shooting from the line. Owen Hancock added 14 points and 9 boards.
Wahoo forced 19 turnovers to just 14 for themselves and outrebounded the Bears 25-19.
Wahoo improves to 10-2 and will travel to Platteview on Friday. Blair falls to 5-5.
