The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Columbus Scotus Shamrocks 73-56 on Tuesday night in Columbus.

The Warriors led 16-14 after one quarter and 38-32 at halftime.

The Shamrocks battled back in the third quarter and cut the lead to 43-42 with 3:35 left in the third. Two Myles Simon free throws and an Owen Hancock bucket pushed the lead back to 47-42. The Warriors were up 49-44, when five consecutive points from Trevor Kasischke made the lead 10 at 54-44. A Triston Keeney trey to end the quarter, put Wahoo up 57-46 after three.

Another Triston Keeney trey and two Trevor Kasischke free throws put Wahoo up 62-46, and the Warriors would go on to claim the 73-56 win.

Trevor Kasischke led Wahoo with 21 points on 13-15 shooting from the foul line to go with 6 steals. Marcus Glock added 16 points on 4-7 from behind the arc and 4 assists. Owen Hancock had 9 points and 10 boards. Triston Keeney added 9 points and 4 assists. Myles Simon added 9 points and 5 steals, and Garrett Grandgenett added 9 points and 7 boards.

Marcus Glock missed a free throw last night to end his consecutive free throw streak at 45. He is not tied for 6th all time in the state of Nebraska with current Harlem Globetrotter player, and part time Wahoo substitute teacher, Trey Bardsley from Beatrice.

Wahoo outrebounded Scotus 27-20 and forced 23 Shamrock turnovers, while committing just 14.

The Warriors improve to 14-4 and will host Plattsmouth on Thursday night. Columbus Scotus drops to 6-13.
