The Wahoo Warriors defeated North Bend Tigers 78-66 on Tuesday night in the Sub-District Final played at Wahoo.
North Bend jumped on Wahoo early and led 15-5 midway through the first quarter. Back to back lay ups from Myles Simon cut the Tiger lead to 15-9, but after North Bend banked in a shot from over half court at the buzzer, the Tigers led 29-16 after one.
North Bend scored the first points of the second quarter to go up 31-16. Wahoo would then get things rolling and went on a 22-2 run to go up 38-33 late in the second quarter. The teams would go to halftime with Wahoo up 38-37.
The Warriors would go on another 10-2 run to open the third quarter to increase the lead to 48-39. After three quarters, Wahoo led 58-52.
A Trevor Kasischke bucket made it 60-52 to start the fourth quarter. Moments later an Owen Hancock bucket made it 62-52. The lead was 66-60, with three minutes left, when Marcus Glock nailed a trey to make it 69-60. The Warriors would knock down free throws to seal the 78-66 win.
Trevor Kasischke and Owen Hancock led four Warriors in double figures with 18 points. Myles Simon and Marcus Glock chipped in with 14 a piece. Garrett Grandgenett and Triston Keeney led Wahoo with 7 boards. Triston Keeney also had 6 steals.
Wahoo improves to 18-6 and will host Pierce on Saturday at 4:00. North Bend falls to 18-5.
